Publisher's summary

It Takes Two: Our Story shares never-before-revealed tales of the Scott brothers' childhood and rise to fame - from starting their first business at seven years old and their years modeling and acting to their first house purchase at the impressive young age of 18. They soon found their true passion in life, combining their natural gifts for entertaining with the skills they learned from buying, renovating, and selling homes.

Complete with hilarious behind-the-scenes stories from set, Jonathan and Drew discuss how their family and upbringing have led to their success in life. Throughout, the brothers keep fans laughing with the clever - and sometimes zany - sibling banter for which they're known best.

Not Worth the Time or $2.95

I don't know these guys so maybe that's why I wasn't that interested in this book. I got bored after a few chapters hearing them work so hard at trying to sound clever and cute while narrating in a mechanical cadence that rarely broke the rhythm. I honestly didn't want to finish it, even speeded up, and in the end I could not get through it because it grew into even more meaningless drivel.

Loved this book.

My favorite part was that it was read by Drew and Jonathan. I don't think I would have enjoyed it half as much had someone else done it. I am twice their fan now though, thank you Drew and Jonathan for being so open and honest.

The Scott Brothers as usual!

I absolutely loved the book.It was great knowing your childhood background because it helps understand who they are as adults. I loved the stories I loved how one brother would interject as the other was telling his story. Mostly it showed me that the two men that I watch on Property Brothers and all of their other shows are wonderful, kind, giving people. If I were your parent I would be incredibly proud of how you grew up. I wish them nothing but happiness in their future in whatever that is but it would be great if they would get married ( Oy Drew how much longer are you waiting for) and have children that would be so fun to see that brought onto their shows. Your book was a delight to read! I am sharing it with everyone! Because everyone loves the Property Brothers!

The Brothers Scott

On the positive side: A bit of banter between the brothers was pleasant, though there could have been more. Hearing about the loves of each brother that turned out to be successful was warm and rewarding.
On the negative side: The narrative was a bit disjointed and lacked a smooth flow. Furthermore, I was sadly disappointed with the style of the recording by the Scott brothers (who did their own narration). Their TV style is natural and fluid, but their narration in this book is too often stilted.
I am glad I chose this book simply because I am interested in the lives of Jonathan and Drew. It shares lots of moments of family fun and shares insight into what it was like to grow up as two truly loyal and sometimes mischievous identical twins. If you are curious about these delightful, intelligent and creative young men this book is worth your time despite its shortcomings.
