Publisher's summary

If It Doesn't Go Away, Come Back is a collection of short, autobiographical stories about a woman living with systemic lupus erythematosus. Through well-crafted prose, Neva Cavataio delivers funny, hopeful, unflinching, and realistic snapshots of living with an on-going illness. From on-the-job dog bites and lupus flares to wig store salespeople and marshmallow Peeps, each story offers a unique perspective into the life of a person who has, with humble honesty and redemptive humor, learned to live life for the moment.

No Cure~But Hope

Very honest and frank work on living with lupus. Despite the health problems caused by her disease and the necessary drugs, Neva is hopeful and moving on...what a brave young woman. We never know what health problems people deal with everyday~this is a lighthearted snapshot of Neva's life while living with a chronic illness. Would love to hear more of her story. Great narration by Meww Gomez. Highly Recommended....

Wow! Very Moving.

Would you listen to If It Doesn't Go Away, Come Back again? Why?

I would be more likely to want my friends and family to listen to this so that they may have a more clear understanding of what pain does to a person along with a lifetime debilitating illness.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the truth of the story. Positive is sometimes not in my vocabulary.

Which character – as performed by Meww Gomez – was your favorite?

The author's. I like the way she wrote a book about what she lives with on a daily basis.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I did listen to this book all in one sitting. I think Meww Gomez did a good job relaying the author's feelings and her experiences.

Any additional comments?

I would recommend this book for anyone whose searching for answers or listening to someone's story including doctors. Listening plays such an important role in a person's overall health. I received this audiobook foc in exchange for an unbiased review.

eye-opener; hold the medical jargon.

The narrator was excellent with the rise and fall of her voice and inflection where needed.
If you are close enough to ask what they're going through but don't know how, this would be a good read for you. She breaks it down how it came out of nowhere, how she feels internally (mentally and physically) and how that makes her project externally (socially.) And ways to get through some of the good days and bad days.
The author jumps right into the meat and potatoes with little background which is good in a sort of way, I'm here for the disease, not her FULL life story (sorry to say.)
