Well written . Covers the golden years of baseball Amerca's game.. He was a player's manager . Under pressure from the owners. The fans expected miracles ,many times he produced. This is a first person, with a minimal addition from the writter.I recommend it to anyone enjoys sports. If you don't know baseball you will after this.

I found Appel’s voice to be friendly, authentic, natural and entertaining. The inflections were subtle and indicated where moods and situations changed. I heard in his voice many different personalities of the people he wrote about and quoted. He made it easy to listen to questions asked and answered.
Juliet Papa did a magnificent job narrating Edna’s writing. She complimented the entire presentation. It was a perfect marriage of narrations sorta speak.
