Graphic Depiction of War w/o the Use of Profanity
I was provided this free review copy of audio-book by the author or narrator. This review is for the audio copy of Call Me Sergeant Rock by Dan Rogers and narrated by John N. Gully.
This was a Viet Nam story that was different from any other Nam story that I have read or listened to. While it was filled with graphic descriptions of the horrors and atrocities of war, it was told in non-offensive manner. Specifically there was no swearing, gratuitous or otherwise. It was written in a manner that would be good for teens interested in war stories but with the maturity to understand the violence. It was kind of slow paced but appropriate for what the author wanted to convey. It was a graphic depiction from the front lines. I thank the author for his service!

Band of Brothers v.2
When I started I wondered if a book on this subject could keep my attention for 20 hours. If you loved the Band of Brothers and the stories told by Dick Winters, you'll love Dan Rogers' recollections from his service in Vietnam. The narrative was well paced, and Rogers' succeeded in getting us to care about the colorful characters he described.
I received this book at no cost on the condition that I review it, but I am recommending it to everyone I know with an interest in understanding combat. It's a fine memoir.
