Entertaining & Free

For a free listen, this interview is definitely worth the time, especially for anyone who is already a fan of Alan Cumming. I already loved him from his superlative performance as Mr. Elton in the 1996 American film version of Emma, as well in The Anniversary Party, that wildly experimental and endlessly fascinating movie he made with Jennifer Jason Leigh. Here I learned about Alan Cumming the man--his early life, struggles with his abusive father, love of Scotland, reasons for wanting to become a U.S. citizen, hopes for Scottish independence, career aspirations, personal anxieties, and much more. The only downside is the interviewer, who is annoyingly cloying and insinuating, inserting himself far too freely into the process and his subject's narrative. But considering that it's free, this is still a valuable listen. Many thanks to the reviewers I follow for recommending it!
