Publisher's summary

Introducing Barefoot Bay Timeless, a new trilogy celebrating the sexy silver fox hero! Set on the sun-washed sands of Barefoot Bay, these contemporary novels tell stories of second chances and redemption.

When 48-year-old widower Mark Solomon arrives in Barefoot Bay for his high school reunion, he's not quite prepared for the onslaught of memories or the attention from interested single women who've gathered for the annual event on the beach. He's ready to ditch the whole thing and resume his life as an adventure-seeking world traveler until he discovers a woman sobbing on his door step...and has an idea.

By her own admission, advertising copywriter Emma DeWitt is jaded, jilted, and jobless, but she goes over the edge when she learns that the resort villa that was supposed to be the site of her romantic honeymoon is occupied by a single man. But when the sexy silver fox who's staying in the villa surprises her with an irresistible offer to pose as his fake fiancee, Emma sees a way to have her week in paradise and begin healing her broken heart.

Mark believes every person has only one soul mate...and he's met, married, and buried his. Emma believes that love is a marketing concept created to sell fairy tales and expensive weddings. What if they are both wrong...and completely right for each other?

Don't miss a minute in Barefoot Bay!

The HEA was anti-climatic

Any additional comments?

I started and stopped this listen a couple of times. I liked the idea of a high school reunion and the backstory of Mark, the male love interest. And Barefoot Bay sounds charming. I knew when the love interest, Emme, came into the picture that there was going to be a series of misunderstandings and I hate that in books. (Totally personal.)

To the author's credit, she saved the big misunderstanding until the very end but it was silly. (They usually are.)

There was a lot to like about this listen. A lot. The narrator made Mark incredibly swoon-worthy and totally masculine.but still kept Emme feminine. That was a treat.

This was a very good listen and deserved a better HEA.

PASSION & LOVE IS TIMELESS

Any additional comments?

I was provided this audiobook through Audiobook Boom at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review.

When talking about falling in love, a body's age means nothing. The heart & soul is "Timeless." People we've loved and lost aren't gone, but separated. Mark is a widow of 16 years, but he's convinced that his wife sends him subtle messages. One such message landed him in the right place and time for a new beginning. The entire book was enchanting and romantic. Mark's maturity and confidence was so very sexy.

Fabulous narration by B.J. Harrison. Everything flowed perfectly.

TWO THUMBS UP!

Romance for grown ups

What did you like best about this story?

This story is not what you typically find in the romance section. Mainly, because the hero is 50ish. He has had life experience. He is healthy and comfortable. He doesn't need a wife. And she is also a grown up. This is not your college age or 20 something love story.

Have you listened to any of B.J. Harrison’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not listened to BJ Harrison before. I think he did a great job. I am partial to male narration for my romance stories. But it cant just be male. He has to do a good job as well. BJ has a good range but nothing too extreme. Just easy to listen to.

Any additional comments?

I have read the kindle version and now listened. I would recommend this story to anyone in love with romance reading.

Older, Wiser, hotter

I got this ARC via audiobook boom. This was a refreshing romance between two older adults, not an older man and a much younger woman. Emme was less than ten years his junior which is much more believable to me. Much more so than an almost fifty-year-old and a twenty something. Mark became a widower 16 years before the reunion. he and Emme connected due to unusual circumstances but it seemed to be directed by Mark's late wife who was his soul mate. I believe the author wanted us to know that Julia wanted him to move on and find love again. The narrator was very good and was perfect for this story.

Love has no age limit.

Where does Barefoot at Sunset rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would rank Barefoot At Sunset a 4. No Roxanne St Clair novel is complete without humor, heart and hope. Emma and Mark's dance of love has all three.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Barefoot at Sunset?

Mark despite having suffered a heartbreaking loss in his life, lends a shoulder to a damsel in distress and proves that chivalry is not dead.

What about B.J. Harrison’s performance did you like?

His delivery was simple, sentimental and full of heat. The emotions his voice conveyed could start a fire as easily as it could break a heart.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Happy ever afters deserve a second chance.

Any additional comments?

Ms. St. Claire puts her all into this heartfelt story and Mr. Harrison does a fine job of portraying a soul mate kind of love is possible at any age.

Romance for those of us who have hit our 40's

What made the experience of listening to Barefoot at Sunset the most enjoyable?

For me the story celebrates life after 40. I am course in my 40's so it was fun to reminisce with the characters as they celebrate a multi year class reunion. Mark Solomon finds out he can find love again after 16 years since his first love has passed away. Watching that come about was awesome.

What did you like best about this story?

Listening to Mark and Emma be there for each other while falling in love. Mark could have easily gotten rid of Emma in the beginning but he didn't. Emma put just as much effort into help Mark as he did helping her.

Which character – as performed by B.J. Harrison – was your favorite?

Mark Solomon. This voice was gorgeous! I picture the the guy on the cover when i hear the narrators voice. Tall, sexy and commanding.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

It's never to late for a second chance at love!

Any additional comments?

Love how Mark and Emma were there for each other and didn't let bitterness and hurt from the past keep them from being together.

Oh the feelings! Sniffles to smiles to cheering!

Typical Rocki - had me sniffing happily in places, nodding my head at others, grinning like crazy and cheering at the end.

Anyone who survived high school will recognize the horrors of a class reunion. Add in losing a soul mate, someone who was left at the altar and the usual cast of Barefoot Bay, while cranking the reader's feelings from loss to betrayal to sympathy, attraction, wicked humor and complete karma for several characters. Not to mention the SIGNS. This is fabulous!

Worth buying for the Porsche lust alone! Plus there's something about being in the head of a guy who's just being a guy.

Hilarious dance lessons for the reunion, a really smarmy former fiancee...I found myself going from misty-eyed to nodding at people who could've been in my class to dying of conflict. When were they going to....?

Buy this one! I am so hooked it's pathetic.

Thrilled to death that - “I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.”

Barefoot at Sunset

Barefoot at Sunset: Barefoot Bay Timeless, Book 1
: Roxanne St. Claire

A book about second chance romance. Mark loved and lost his soul mate. Emma was dumped by her fiancee. They meet at a beautiful resort and work together to protect each other. Many twists and turns with a touch of supernatural visits keep things moving.

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed. B.J. Harrison adds a nice touch to the story.

Sweet second chance

I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, and/or publisher. I have read several book by Roxanne St.Claire and enjoy her writing style. I found the audiobook to be just as enjoyable as the print version. The narrator was new to me and I thought he was very talented. It was refreshing to having a male narrator for this story since the main character (Mark) was male. The story has clean language and is realistic.
