Publisher's Summary

Over thirty years ago, a group of five Englishmen and one wayward American re-wrote the rules of comedy. Monty Python's Flying Circus, an unheralded collection of sketches, hilarities, inanities and animations first appeared on the BBC late one night in 1969. Its impact on the world has been felt ever since. This audio edition is a compilation of unique never-before-heard interviews with the Python team conducted by Bob McCabe while he researched the Python book, plus clips from the famous Monty Python sketches, including "The Parrot Sketch," "Nudge, Nudge, Wink, Wink," "Spam" and "Ministry of Silly Walks." Here is a unique glimpse at arguably the most important comic team of the modern age. Do you want Spam with that?

Critic Reviews

"A full literary meal about the irreverent Python troupe...By book's end, [listeners] will feel they know each Python intimately and marvel that six such different personalities could collaborate to produce such hilarious, scathingly subversive comedy." (Publishers Weekly)
"Consistently absorbing...disarmingly frank." (The New Yorker)

Lots of fun

Very enjoyable, merits repeated listenings. I thought I knew everything about the Pythons but there were many bits that were new to me. Interviews nicely cut with some of their sketches. The quality of the interviews is slightly strange though, with ringing phones interrupting the speaker and John Cleese sounding like he's got food in his mouth. But don't let that stop you.

Brilliant content, Poorly edited

Dont let the bad sounding interviews (John Cleese sounds like he is in an empty auditorium, far in the back...and Michael Palin's phone rings a few times)This is a truly enjoyable book! If you are a fan, you will strain and squint to listen, because it is worth the time.

Very funny moments of Monty Python history revisited by Eric Idle, The Terry's (both Jones and Gilliam) John Cleese, Micheal Palin and the late Graham Chapman...
