I love The Big Lebowski. This insider story of the making of the movie is fun in its own right & makes the move even more fun.
More or less an intern's diary of his time working on the periphery of 'The Big Lebowski'. The most interesting bits from a filmmaking standpoint were some very brief recollections of an early script reading, and some occasional insights into the Coens' casting thought process. otherwise, there's really not much here...
What disappointed you about The Dudes Abide?
The author had only an outer fringe relationship with the Coens, mainly as a gofer for food etc. As a result, he can't tell you much that you didn't already know about the making of the Big L and the book consists mainly of polyfilla about other matters, such as the Coen's lunch preferences.
What could Alex Belth have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
He could have not bothered writing it.
How could the performance have been better?
A different narrator
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Any additional comments?
Watch the movie again instead and save yourself some money.
