Publisher's Summary

The rock-and-roll memoir of one of the world's greatest guitarists.
Yngwie Malmsteen's revolutionary guitar style - combining elements of classical music with the speed and volume of heavy metal - made him a staple of the 80s rock scene. Decades later, he's still a legend among guitarists, having sold 11 million albums and influenced generations of rockers since.
In Relentless, Malmsteen shares his personal story, from the moment he burst onto the scene, seemingly out of nowhere, in the early 80s to become a household name in the annals of heavy metal. Along the way, he talks about his first bands, going solo, his songwriting and recording process, and the seedy side of the rock business.
Malmsteen was named one of Time magazine's ten greatest electric guitar players.
The author's most recent album, Spellbound, was released in December 2012.

Autobiography of Yngwie J. Malmsteen.

Would you listen to Relentless again? Why?

Absolutely, because it is an absolutely amazing book!

What did you like best about this story?

I like reading an autobiography, then you know it`s the truth. Books written by others can come up with falsehoods. This book is the truth about Yngwies life.

What about Yngwie J. Malmsteen and Fred Berman ’s performance did you like?

Vivid descriptions! Excellent!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

That you get to listen to Yngwies amazing guitar playing. He is world class. I think he is by far the greatest of them all.

Any additional comments?

I recommend everyone to read it!

A Bit All Over the Place

Firstly it's somewhat misleading to advertise this book as being narrated by Yngwie himself. Yngwie reads an introduction and is then never heard again. The main narrator does a great job however.

Fans of Yngwie will know what to expect from this book. Yngwie is as full of himself as ever here and is characteristically unapologetic for it. The book begins with Yngwie ranting about Socialism of all things and ends with Yngwie, for the millionth time, stating how he must have total creative control over everything he does... yeah we get it.

Learning about Yngwies early, and surprisingly somewhat privileged, life was quite interesting. There's also some good gossip about Bonnet, Turner and some sleazy managers.

Overall I'd say only listen to this if you're an Yngwie fan, otherwise this will be a struggle.
