Beverly made her first movie at age 6, and quickly found her niche. Over the years, her circle of friends included some of the biggest names in movies and television, many of whom she "dated" in the pages of the fan magazines - and in real life. But Beverly's fame went far beyond the silver screen. In the 1960s, for example, she even cut a hit record - "Everybody Loves Saturday Night" - written by the legendary folk artist Pete Seeger.
In this heartfelt and deeply revealing autobiography, Beverly talks from the soul about her astounding career as a child actress and the difficulties she encountered as she became a teenager and then an adult. She also reflects back on her most famous movies, with many behind-the-scenes anecdotes never before revealed, and discusses her enduring friendships with some of entertainment's most prominent performers, including Jack Benny, Loretta Young, Lou Costello, and George Reeves.

What A GREAT Book AND Performance!
Where does Reel Tears: The Beverly Washburn Story rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
My Audible experience just keeps getting better!
Who was your favorite character and why?
This one was only about Beverly Washburn, but she was more than enough! No other characters were needed!
Have you listened to any of David "Doc" Sowell’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I really didn't even hear him in this performance, however Beverly was great!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
This was a roller coaster of emotions. To ask for any one would be impossible. I do love that chose a book of a major animal lover as myself. Through this entire book, I wanted to reach for Ms. Washburn and hug her!
Any additional comments?
As I listen to this book I can't help but think of the say "That which does not kill you, makes you stronger. " Ms. Washburn must, at this point, be one of the strongest women known!
This book comes highly recommended weather or not you know who exactly who Ms. Washburn is!
