Oh dear, what to say. I'm not a touchy-feeling knitter or reader, and I have to stop buying knitting books that in the end are about how knitting is like life, or how knitting gets you through it, or how knitting is warm and fuzzy. If you like these sorts of books, you'll appreciate this one.
One obvious problem: it is a waste of time for Audible to read us the 4 knitting patterns in the book. Why not give them to us as a pdf rather than reading them?

Once I realized that re essays were from Writers, not Knitters I enjoyed it more than I did at first. Knitting as metaphor, not actual knitting was many authors' point.
Many tortuous moments were spent listening to the narrator reading a knitting pattern. I skipped the rest.
I really enjoyed listening to this while knitting a tricky jumper for a friend's daughter. There were funny yarns, excuse the pun, and sad ones too. The narrator's voice was like chocolate with cream and marshmallows.
I was sad when it ended. Buy it and listen while you knit. Heaven.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
When I purchased this book I didn't realise that it was going to include knitting patterns. This should have been made clearer as I hoped to hear more anecdotes and knitting tales not patterns read aloud. Disappointed.
Has Knitting Pearls put you off other books in this genre?
How could the performance have been better?

Would you listen to Knitting Pearls again? Why?
I loved this book. The stories in it were great and the narrators did a great job with each individual story. There were about 5 knitting patterns which were read out which I didnt enjoy but they were easy to skip through. Im going to purchase knitting yarns next.
