By: Jeffery Deaver

Publisher's summary

Jeffery Deaver discusses his latest book, Edge, as well as the story tellers that inspired him, his love for audiobooks, and his research methods.

About Edge:
Behind the well-known U.S. security organizations—the FBI and CIA among them—lies a heavily guarded, anonymous government agency dedicated to intelligence surveillance and to a highly specialized brand of citizen protection.

Shock waves of alarm ripple through the clandestine agency when Washington, D.C., police detective Ryan Kessler inexplicably becomes the target of Henry Loving, a seasoned, ruthless “lifter” hired to obtain information using whatever means necessary. While Loving is deft at torture, his expertise lies in getting an “edge” on his victim—leverage—usually by kidnapping or threatening family until the “primary” caves under pressure.

Interesting, Intriguing, Informational

What did you love best about Free Interview with Jeffery Deaver, author of Edge and The Burning Wire?

With his voice, J.D. could be a wonderful narrator himself.

What did you like best about this story?

I learned more about the author himself and some of his opinions on what makes writing successsful. I liked how he added that the narrator is almost a coauthor, when they add personality and life to the book.

Have you listened to any of the narrator’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have read his books, but this is the first time I have listened to the author.
I enjoyed this very much.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely

Any additional comments?

I appreciated your mentioning that no matter how interesting, if facts do not move along the story or add to character development, they don't have a place in the book.

Good interview

I like it when I learn that writers want to make sure that we the readers need to be drawn into the story so we can visualize the characters.

Wonderful Interview

I really enjoyed Jeffery Deaver's admission that with audiobooks it is often the reader/actor's interpretation of the book that brings it to life. All authors who wish to have their books in audio format should listen to this interview!
