Publisher's Summary

Frank Zappa - June 6, 1971
By the time of this hotel room interview, Zappa had already released 11 albums in his prolific career. A few months prior, he formed a new version of his band The Mothers and made the film 200 Motels. The interview ranges over a variety of topics: the film, his band’s rehearsal regimen, and the nuts and bolts of managing The Mothers. The conversation turns to his dislike of the audiences at the Fillmore East.
Near the end of the interview, we hear John Lennon and Yoko Ono chime in. Howard had brought them along to meet Zappa, and they’d been sitting on the couch the entire time.

So nice to be able to spend an hour with Frank

This is a must have for any Zappa fan!

Recorded the day after the first of the Fillmore concerts with Flo & Eddie. Frank discusses how he conducts a band in some detail. John Lennon and Yoko Ono are on hand and offer comments near the end of the interview. Howard Kaylan also interrupts periodically to update Frank on the status of finding him an amp for the show as he had blown his marshal the night before

It's kind of like getting to be a fly on the wall in Franks dressing room for an hour.

Quality rare gem

This is a rare look deep inside the mind and times of Frank Zappa. John Lennon and Yoko appear at the end and quite honestly John Lennon seems boring in comparison.
