This is not an audiobook.

This is the sound of the film Exorcist III. No visuals, no backstory. But lots of unexplained sound effects.
Like watching the movie blindfolded.

Great Audio from a great movie.

The best book ever written by William Peter Blatty and the best movie made from his works.

Not an audio book

What disappointed you about Exorcist III?

This is full of loud sound effects with no comprehension as to what is going on (Even after seeing the movie many times. It's a collection of audio clips from the movie so it's like trying to watch the movie from another room in the house. Horribly disappointing esp after the original Exorcist narrated by Blatty himself.

What three words best describe full cast’s performance?

That they just pulled the clips from the movie

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

None

Warning: This is literally just the film's audio

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I have a soft spot for this movie and I consume anything of it I can get. However, much of the movie's gravitas is in its visuals. This audio, which is essentially Audible's equivalent of a kid holding a tape recorder up to the TV's speaker, only gives you a portion of Blatty's work. It might work better with some editing and narration, like the old Doctor Who audios for lost episodes.

What other book might you compare Exorcist III to and why?

This is very much like the lost episode audios of Doctor Who, but without any narration. So random noises are all you get for minutes at a time.

What about full cast’s performance did you like?

If you like the movie, you already have an appreciation for this cast and what they do. George C. Scott is remarkable as Kindermann and you get (half of) a wonderful performances from Brad Douriff.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

It does evoke memories of the movie, which are fine for me.

Any additional comments?

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless, like me, they are hard-core fans of this movie.
