Enjoyed this very much

I was happy to hear Donna Leon's voice, and happy that she sounds like a person who could be a friend of mine.

Fascinating author.

Venice is a fascinating city that is ancient and mysterious, great place for a backdrop.

Straight-Shooting

Donna Leon knows who she is and what she wants to write about. The fact that she can do this honestly and in still hold to the promise of giving the reader's what they want in spite of herself, was a nice revelation to hear.

The pitfalls that hit most writers in the realm of fame and bias have been strategically cut out of Leon's routine and she tenaciously defends the actions taken to both keep the text relevant and her personal life personal.

I enjoyed this glimpse into the author and her musings on making the perfect companion for her then fledgling career which now spans 20+ years.

junky book interview

didn't realize what a 'want-to-be' pseudo intellectual Leon is.....especially given how even headed hey main character brunetti is. hopefully I'm wrong and she's more than just limousine liberal trying to hide blue collar, middle America roots she's embarrassed of.
