Publisher's summary

Megan has her sights set on finding a convicted burglar who's broken his parole, and she has the perfect partner to help sniff him out. Unfortunately, her shepherd mix Brigit's dog bowl is already full. A Peeping Tom has been spotted in an affluent Fort Worth neighborhood, and concerned citizens are looking for a few good watchdogs.

To catch the creep, residents start enlisting volunteers to beef up their neighborhood watch group - which is fine with Megan. She needs to focus on catching a burglar who's still at large. But when the Peeping Tom patrol grows into a virtual vigilante mob, Megan and Brigit have to jump in paws first, before some very angry people take the law into their own hands.

Jolly romp if you ignore the perps

The police K9 pair at the heart of this series are great fun. I like the light tone and humor, even tho they are investigating and (surprise) catching peeping Toms.

Cookie Cutter.

What did you like best about Against the Paw? What did you like least?

The dog, of course. Bridgit, the police dog, is the only reason to listen to the series. Love the image of a hundred pount wrecking force with pink nail polish [but dogs don't use people polish as the author described!]. I disliked the errors made by the narrator (confusing the names of the two boyfriends more than once).

Would you be willing to try another book from Diane Kelly? Why or why not?

No. Unless she can develop the characters more. Only a few books into the seriers, she is cranking out books like Janet Evanovich. Not much changes from one book to another, except the names of bad guys.

Would you be willing to try another one of Coleen Marlo’s performances?

Mmmm....maybe. Perhaps the mistakes were the editors fault. Distracting when the characters are confused by the narrator.

Was Against the Paw worth the listening time?

No. I was desperate.
