Honest, thrilling & clever

After the huge bombshell ending of the last book I wasn’t sure how the story could continue. But wow, this book was even better. There are many changes in everyone’s lives, and many that genuinely shocked me. What I love about this series is that it’s realistic. All the stories & plots feel authentic, and this isn’t a series where everything magically works out. It’s honest, it’s gritty & it’s real life.
The mystery was so beautifully woven with twists you’ll never see coming. Bravo Ellery, this was another home run!

So charming & a great mystery!

I love this series, and this was one of my more favorite books toon it focuses less on the love triangle aspect and more on the mystery at hand. The Old Bitties play a big role again, and I love them so much! They’re my favorite characters by far! In this mystery, it’s not Devlin handling the case, but another officer which makes the investigating much more tricky for Jemma, and thus chaos ensues! I love this series & how charming it is!

A great listen!

The best thing about this series is that there is so much action packed into one book! Yet they still all fit together. In this book Walt meets a group of seniors who want to copy him and be crime fighters. They get into some trouble with the mob & from there so many hijinks ensue! At the same time the stories told here are real life issues which don’t often get much attention (such as sex trafficking). There are serious topics that are handled with care & mixed with enough humor & mystery to keep it light!

Another fun adventure!

I love Sabrina & I am a big fan of this series & Meredith Potts! This was another fun installment which begins with a local business mysteriously being burnt down. Not long after a regular to Sabrina’s coffee shop is found dead & Sabrina teams up with her cop boyfriend to crack the case! This is a fun series & a true cozy through and through!

A great deal!

I already own books 1 & 2 but purchased this because I wanted to get a chance to hear the Prequel to set the stage for the series. The Prequel is a full on story with a murder and lots of mystery! It’s definitely worthwhile to purchase this if you’re already a fan of the series. And If you’re new to this series then definitely buy this bundle & save 2 credits. Trust me, you’ll want to buy the whole series!!

Mystery, suspense & cats!

If you are an animal lover then this installment is for you! As with all Lady Justice books there is a perfect blend of mystery, personal plots & suspense. The topics covered in this book range from finding a lost treasure, to a hostage situation with a member in witness protection, to a foiled terror plot. There is a lot of action, and as usual all the favorite characters are along for the ride!

No more Lucy please

The thing I love most about Ellery and her writing is that she creates very real characters with very real flaws. This helps to make the connection between the reader and the characters feel genuine & deep. However, because of this I really can’t stand Lucy. This book is her at her worst with selfish behavior & treating the entire supper club as being less than & below her. How she treated James by dumping him for someone better and then wanting him back irked me, and this book’s entire plot line is a continuation of that and feels rather unfair to Murphy. I won’t add any spoilers but it was upsetting and made me feel disappointed in James, which soured the book as a whole. I already know what will happen by the next book & it’s already making me hesitate even continuing with the series.

Great new series!

Let me start by saying that I am a big fan of Meredith Potts work! I love her writing & was excited to listen to this new series and meet all the new characters. I enjoyed that it was divided up into mini mysteries that were only about 2hrs or so each. I put one on while I got ready for the day, had breakfast, fed the dogs etc. It was the perfect length! The stories themselves also each had a very personal aspect to them which made it easy to connect to all of the characters (even with the shorter nature of the stories).
My only wish was that there was a different narrator. She didn’t seem to be very skilled, and read the words in a monotone way without putting much of a performance into it. She didn’t differentiate the characters well & lacked emotion. On top of that the actual audio quality wasn’t the best either. And as a lover of Meredith’s writing, I think someone else would have done her work more justice.
Overall the stories & mysteries are very well written. They are compelling & enjoyable through & through!

I love the Flab 5!

I love Ellery’s work, and what sets her books apart is the incredible character development. I feel like I really truly know the flab five & I’m invested in their lives, which are not predictable or mundane. Everything in the plot feels real and authentic, including the interpersonal relationships & the ups and downs that come with that. If you can, start at book 1 of this series because it makes it that much richer.

The mystery in this book was well done, and I had no idea who the killer was (it was a surprise to me). Well narrated as always by Karen White!

Closure for Sabrina

This has been one of my favorite installments of this series. If you’ve been following along then you will get some much needed answers & closure on the mystery of Sabrina’s sister. This book brings it all full circle, and it’s been building since Book 1 so it was a very satisfying plot to get answers to. I didn’t expect the ending at all, and although it feels resolved, the door is still open for more. I’m really invested in these characters & feel for Sabrina every step of the way. The narration is well done & the story is perfectly executed!
