Good overview with sufficient detail on nuts and bolts. Too many books in the topic are full of breathless discussion of implications of block chain etc without sufficient explanation of how things work. This book strikes a good balance.
Too much rhetoric
I bought this audiobook to get an overview of current issues in education reform. Instead way too much of this book is an overwrought polemic against a cast of evil characters bent on destroying American public school education. The ratio of rhetoric to useful information is hugely skewed. This is unfortunate because the author has a valuable vantage point on education reform, having served as an educator and in a variety of important policy oriented positions. And I should say that I'm generally sympathetic to his perspective. when he stops excoriating and just discusses an issue, the content is informative. But that is just way too small a portion of the book.
