Loved the Details
I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. Combine romance, paranormal, debts to pay, vengeance, and a great narrator and you have an interesting horror story filled with great details. This is a different take on the horror story we grew up with and Crane is the star. The reason behind the headless horseman is also shown. I liked the explanation.
I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. Gangsters, greed, love, butterflies, and a great story until the end, a cliffhanger. A quick story that left me disappointed. This could have been a great story. I loved the interactions between the characters but to be left with no ending is just icky.
Great Short Story
I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This is one of those quick listens that take you away just enough to unwind. A fake fiancé becomes the real thing and just like that you have a great story. The narrator does well with the emotions. Who does not want to get away from a crazy x? Loved the secondary characters they really added to the story. Worth your three hours. It is filled with sex but it does not get in the way of the story. In other words this is not just a sex story with a little plot thrown in.
Slow and Complicated
I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This story was well written and told a complete story with more than one HEA but boy did it take it's time to get there. Two people who had to not only unravel their own secrets but the secrets that were more than 50 years old. This is one of those stories that you want to listen to in order to find out what happened next and you can't skip ahead because you will miss something. It is also one in which you want to sit at home with your favorite beverage and listen to. It is not for that long car ride. Yes it is worth the listen but it is not fast-paced. The narrator uses only one voice to tell the story but you are able to follow along because of the way the story is written.
Confusing but good
I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This story was well written and the narrator was very good. That being said I am not sure who to root for in the story. Jenny's story seemed to get lost then found then lost again and finally found at the end. This is one that requires more than one listen to get the true gist of the story and there are too many books to listen to before I leave this earthly plane to do that. It is a good old fashioned western though filled with intrigue, betrayal, revenge, and yes love.
I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. First off the narrator was great nd really made the story come alive. Second I enjoyed the prequel as much as I did the main story probably better. Loved how Tarin figured out how to keep herself from danger. I wish she could have helped the little boy. Glad the robbers only got clothes. The story was filled with action, suspense and dedication. The wolf did all she could to teach Tarin what her father neglected to do. Loved that they were part of the resistance to the Nazis evil. Ok enough spoilers. The book was worth the listen. Waiting on the next in the series.
Listen Past the Prologue for a good story
I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. The narrator was perfect. The prologue almost stopped the presses then chapters one and two picked up a little then on to the end. Filled with action and several plot twists this story is one of a group of people who think they are better but run up against a group who do know better. So many of the descriptions were so well told that I could actually see what was happening.
I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This story of love, family secrets, anger that has lasted for over 50 years as well as ghost and faithful housekeepers make for a great story. I loved the respect and strength of the hero. The secondary characters really added to the overall feel of the story. Just a feel=good few hours of listening.
I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. Injustice comes in many forms and through many people but eventually, the truth comes out. We think that this story could only have happened in the near past but it could and probably is happening today just hidden better. Glad the granddaughter was compelled to go back and find out what really happened to clear the entire family's name. Sometimes it just takes one person willing to do the hard thing to make everything right. Good story.
Another Good One
I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. I enjoy Ms. North's books and this one did not disappoint. The second son trying to prove that he is worthy and being forced into something sets his own ground rules. If he has to then it will be on his terms. This situation puts him in direct opposition with the one he needs most. Such a worthy quick listen. It works well as a stand-alone but reading the first book will add depth to this story.
