Excitement from beginning to end
I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This was a fun, exciting romance between Dixon a lion shifter who could not shift and a fae who thought her gifts were useless. The narration was choppy but the story was good. The secondary characters really added to the story. I hope that Webb gets his story and that the uncle did not destroy him. The sisters are a force to be reckoned with. I have enjoyed the others in this series although I missed one. But each is a stand-alone and complete.
Not My Cup of Tea
I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This story was told in memoir form in my estimation and history was intertwined within the story. The narration was so bland that in several places I had to rewind to hear the story. There were parts that did not resonate with me because I could not relate to them. I was glad that the author felt the need to tell the story as she did. There are times when something has to be told even if no one else understands. Kudos to the author.
I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This story is happening in the middle east with the typical male and female roles clashing. Added in is the woman trying to keep the secret that the child is his and the dangers they face as they try to escape all combine to make for a few hours of entertainment. There were some typical scenes that made the story move along but were anticipated. The performance was not the best but did not force me to stop listening.
I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. First off let me say the narrator took my breath away. He could read a cracker box and make me listen. The story was filled with enough plot twist that even though it was less than 3 hours long it was a full story. I loved the way Sophia stood up for herself as she forged her way through what is essentially a man's world. She was also able to help Rhett move through the mind field of being a single dad who also had a ranch to run. The secondary characters made the story round out and run full speed ahead.
I got this book via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This story was entertaining from the beginning. The narrator was not to my liking but the story was good. I was sad about the death of one of the drivers. The romance was a little strange. She had been in love with him since she was a preteen and he was much older but she maintained that love and they finally got together after she grew up. He knew she was the one but waited for her to grow up. The races were described in great detail and fit right in. The whole story was entertaining even though there were some trite moments.
I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. I am so glad that I requested this story. This was a beautiful love story with a western rancher flair. All of the characters in the story played such an important role that none could be left out. I hope I get the chance to review the other brother's stories as well. A violinist is playing the role of a horse vet because her best friend had emergency surgery and did not want to lose her job. She shows up in Jimmy Choos. Which of any of the guys believed she was a vet? She never outrighted lied but she skirted the truth. The love story evolves as they help each other. He protects her but also realizes that they don't know each other and must get to know each other before revealing secrets. Well written sweet romance. This story shows you can tell a love story without all of the explicit sex and still get the passion across. The narrator added to the story. I could listen to him read a grocery list and give him five stars.
I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. I wanted to like this story because I like other books by this author. This one was just too filled with pettiness. After getting through several scenes then to find out that she had that much hatred over a conversation that she only heard one part of was a bridge too far. The narrator portrayed the emotions just as they were written but boy did the story nosedive for me. She was angry at him and still could see she was wrong but continued to hold the grudge even when she needed his help. I just did not get this story. I really wanted to like it but.....
I got this book via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. The blurb and the title made me think I would hear a story about a girl being bullied in high school then rediscovering that bully had changed in later life. The first chapters of the book were about the girl pining away for a guy. She then goes to college and does the same thing. It was hard for me to discover the story. The bullying was not mentioned at all in the beginning which is where I was expecting it to be. The ending was good and the narrator did a good job with the story but I was confused throughout waiting for the bullying to be explained. I enjoy this author's books but this one did not do it for me. Too much of the book was spent on something that did not go with what the story was about. Perhaps I missed it but not so, but this is just my opinion.
I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. this is another very entertaining, sweet western mail order romance with a twist. This time it is a mail order husband. I loved the little plot twists incorporated into the story. The thief passing himself off as a minister, the brother coming to town with the husband's inheritance just at the time when they really need it. I especially love how God is woven into the story. There is a full romance including love making without going into explicit details. the story is well thought out and the narrator got the voices just right including the little girl. Although for a 4-year-old she had quite an imagination. I wish the other parts of the series were available on audio. My eyesight is failing and I can't read as many books but I listen to two or three a day. Listening allows me to get my other work done while still getting my reading in. Can't wait for other books by Ms. Goss.
Good for the series
I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. I loved Zander's story. The humor is great and the many plot twists that were woven into the story really made it a great story. Zander finds his HEA and saves a strong new six year old vampire. The h is newly turned as a werewolf but does all she can to protect the boy. Loved the reactions when the H and h meet the first time. Passing that note was an excellent detail. This is another part of the story and I love the way they continued their story. I am not a fan of cliffhangers and this one ended just like the others. Although the story was well-developed it still ended in that small detail. Zander really made me enjoy the story though. Loved the way he could become mistlike to get to the places he needed to go and help save the people he needed to save.
