Heart-rendingly beautiful & sad
Well written, with engaging characters, this story of war & oppression is both entertaining & thought-provoking, leaving the reader sad, but fulfilled.
Excellent murder mystery!
The story keep the reader guessing with engaging characters & plot twists.
Well done & very entertaining!
This story was entertaining, characters engaging and believable for a mythical tale, but it left the reader in an unfinished place. in my opinion.
Too many unresolved issues and not a good place to end the tale.
A fun romp...
A fun romp through the life of a 24 year old with enough emotional baggage for everyone. Great characters and plot twists.
If you love ancient history, this brings to life characters of Rome with a deep, factual story of traditions, rituals and emotions that will keep you enthralled to the end.
The narrator brings individuality to each player with voices of the past that pull you into their lives.
I don't usually read fantasy or sci-fi, but this story held my attention.
Being read by the author, it was obvious that he knew his characters, and his command of unique voices truly enhanced the performance.
The story line, though quite violent, is tempered with an emotional thread that keeps the reader wondering what else could possibly happen to our poor hero - just as the story takes on a new dimension you didn't see coming, and sweeps you into a whole new venue of conflict while remaining true to the initial challenges the hero faces.
The book is written with intelligence & class not usually found in stories of this type.
Very entertaining & I feel comfortable recommending this book to those who might not otherwise give this genre a chance. Well done, Mr. Burch!
I enjoyed the story & characters, but there were so many to keep track of, especially the men.
Narrator did a great job of giving the story life!
Overall, a really entertaining murder mystery with humor.
Awesome - loved it!
Well done and very enjoyable to listen to. I felt like I was there! Highly recommended!
A sweet story of the early 1900's
A heartwarming story chronicling four young women on the verge of adulthood.
The characters follow independent paths, but remain fast friends in the the face of adversity as each is forced to make choices for their future.
Some of the verbage was a little modern, pulling out of the era at times, but the overall story flowed well and was believable.
Recommended for reader's who enjoy sweet romances with distinct heroines, hero's and villains.

A fun read...
Narrator's voice certainly matched the protagonist's personality in a 20-something presentation.
The angst of the heroine was a little over the top at times, making me want to choke her for being so insecure, but her repeated self-doubt definitely got the point across.
The hero was a little too perfect. A minor flaw or two might have made his character more dimensional & real.
Overall, a fun story that will hold the reader's attention. Definitely recommended for young adults who can relate to someone just starting out in life on their own.
