Enjoyable, but...

Starts slow with a romance that develops too fast, and a man that lacks the normal character development to reach his apex at the end of the story. A paragon should go through trials in a book like this, and he does not to an extent that is satisfactory. Good climax, great battles. Weak ending--lived happily ever after'ish.

should be in young adult fiction category

low yield story, will not be reading any further volumes. Try Lightbringer, Name of the Wind, WoT, or Stormlight if you are new to epic fantasy.

Slow moving book

Would you listen to Age of Myth again? Why?

Yes, the story overall is good, but man does it take a while to get going. I also find it obnoxious that this series is completely written (which the author says in the preface), but they choose to release only 1 book per year.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

BORING first half. Release all the books at once.

What does Tim Gerard Reynolds bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The performance was better than the book itself. The reader is still not as good as the guy that reads many of Sanderson's books--he is king imo.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
