This is one of the best in this series. it explores the working relationship between Hanna and
the genius inspector who works for and with her. not the biggest of crimes but one of the best.

The narrator does a wonderful job of picking up readers and taking them to a surprisingly well plotted murder mystery. Excellent. Surprising.

I can't believe

I'd never read this. As a catch up, it is very, very good. I worried that this unabridged edition would quickly bog down, be stuffed with dull "he said, Isaid" but It read well and time skimmedquickly.

Sorta maybe

I preordered this and watched a 3 hour interview with Brad Thor on Book TV 2 days beforec the book was released. Mr. Thor was a very good TV interview. But the book was too 1,2,3 for me. I tried to get into the history, the geography, the characters, the story.... But, nope, for me this book is a 3.

Where has this wonderful author been?

I listen to a lot of mysteries. Sometimes it's discouraging looking for the best of the best but, wow! I can't believe I missed this British author. But, this is intelligent, addictive, not dripping with blood, tightly edited and chock-full of characters that kept me hopping. The narrator Is skillful, the book is excellent and I will be checking out the author's other books.

Worth your time and money

How difficult to write an account of a terrible old crime and make it c one alive in the yelling. The author has written this so well- and the narrator tells this tale in such a gripping Manor that is will be worth your time and money.
Fascinating.

This is very google

🔎So much happens in the small world our characters inhabit. It is interesting enough that I never felt bogged down with too much
info as can happen in the "oh, gee, what can possibly go wrong?" genre. I will listen to it again some time and watch for a sequel...

Interesting

I like listening to this book. it is short. Anytime the bad guy wonders if he did or did not shoot JFK I'm in. And then Marilyn makes a couple of appearances. Or does she? For the conspiracy hobbyists, this one's for you.

For the cover

I bought this because I really liked the art on the book jacket. It lived up to its promise of SW US
outdoor adventure. I cheered when the character from Pennsylvania worried about rattlesnakes everywhere she looked.

the reviewers were correct<br />

I read the reviews from other readers, but I wanted to see what this book really was like.
The reviewers were correct. This is not up to these authors'
usually excellent work.
As it stands, this appears to have been written as a group exercise by a high school English class. Save your money.
