FUN READ, EVEN FOR A GROWN PERSON

I am a serious GROWN business professional, but I really enjoyed & had fun w/this read. I don't often write reviews as I am usually very short on time & under business pressures. I read Audible selections during my daily commute & weekend catch-up of cooking, cleaning, laundry. This book was so enjoyable that, UPON finishing, I ALREADY missed the characters & the story line enough that I ordered the next book in the series. WHO would have considered dragons in the modern world? Really fun. Dragons without castles, swords, knights, etc. added w/the component of magic?

REALLY OUT OF THE REGULAR SERIOUS STUFF I WOULD CHOOSE. REALLY GLAD THAT I DID. LIGHT-HEARTED & RELAXING FUN, EVEN FOR GROWN PEOPLE

NOT MY KIND OF BOOK

this book was entirely too violent for my tastes. did not enjoy at all. was a daily deal special & thought I'd give it a shot outside of my usual comfort reading. I don't recommend if u are not willing to encounter horrendous visuals of horrific violence. that's just my opinion.

Very informative & true sharing of his experience!

I feel humbled by reading this man's sharing of his life path. The book showed his strengths & weaknesses & fears. I appreciate learning both sides. GREAT story w/a happy ending - real & true love found him as he is & continues to share & support him. (glad it's not a fairy tale).

Sad -- but sincere, authentic & belevable

Frank is an endearing child/teenager. I find it difficult to truly comprehend the depth of disappointment & lack of overall care that he (& many) faced in childhood. Endearing from the heart of a child as the reader "peaks" into his thoughts & wondering as he grew & facing much sadness & adversity. His story is well told in this book. I look forward to reading the next 2 books which Frank McCourt wrote to reveal more of his life story as he grows into a young, then fully grown, man.

WELL-DONE!

REALLY ENJOYED THIS BOOK!!!

I found the story well-written, the characters believable & the narrator represented the story very well.

My favorite moment was when referenced the chanting of the guards in castle at the Wizand of Oz's Wicked Witch of West & and also "Emerald City". so subtle, but really effective in validating the character for that one.

In my opinion, well done for a story to distract you from whatever. Enjoyed it & recommend it to fill or pass time.

AWESOME PEAK INTO A SAD REALITY OF WAR!

The reality of war, as presented in this book, is both heart-rending & sincere. it is filled wit unimaginable horror told from the viewpoint of a tender youth forced to comply with throw he gave to serve his country. the author is to be commended for his writing & sharing with others the reality of war.

The narrator did a great job, reflecting believability & the heart of the young man as he lived through the reality.of war

My own nephew is a Marine & I feel as though I've been offered a window into his own personal prospective towards serving his country. His commitment & dedication are resolute.

Timeless!

Every American should listen to Martin Luther King's speech. His words are as valuable in modern times (2009) as when he first spoke them.
