A Story of Mending

Unbreak My Heart is about the journey of healing, finding peace and having a second chance at love. Such a great listen. Blakely tells a heartfelt story about letting go and learning to cope with grief the right way. I love that Holland knew how to give Andrew space to heal on his own so their relationship could get a second chance.

This is not a sugary, spicy, funny rom-com that we are used to by Blakely, but a story that encompasses all the emotion you get from loss and the steps one takes to become whole. How did I connect with the story? I believe all of us have had to deal with something so monumental that life took a turn. We may have used coping mechanisms that seemed minimal at the time, but found that it influenced our relationships with others and ourselves. I've been there.

With Andrew, we don't get all the details of his relationship with his brother, but we can sense the emotional connection and loss he felt after the passing. We see/hear it in the tone and attitude of the story. There was a moment where Andrew questions if he had known his brother at all and begins to feel anger which is another stage of grief. However, his journey leads him to an understanding of what's important. That living life one day at a time with "NO REGRETS" is simply the best path to happiness.

Joe Arden delivers a perfect narration as Andrew. You can hear the vulnerability, sadness and determination in his interpretation. I am used to hearing Joe perform roles where he is an arrogant a-hole or a smug, conceited bad boy, however, this story, I believe allowed him an opportunity to flex his acting skills in a different type of romance. Definitely one of my favorite performances.

Erin Mallon, as always knows how to "be" the character. It is like she has a sixth sense and tunes in perfectly to deliver the character’s emotions. She nails it EVERY.SINGLE.TIME! I honestly can say the Arden/Mallon pairing was a hit!

When You're Conflicted...

My title is misleading, sort of. I didn't know if I wanted to love or hate this book. And that's only because of the age of the characters. I feel weird being turned on at points and creeped out lol. The story line is so different. It's dark and twisted. Controlling Cosette is a wicked, reverse harem, polyamory, mystery, thriller that made me say " OH. MY GOD" in every chapter!

Michelle Sparks is back again and she does a phenomenal job. She seemed to be more in tuned with the characters and her delivery is spot on. Great book and great performance.
Bring on How to Kill a Pedophile!

Hot As F***

This is my favorite in the series so far. Reagen is my shero. She is tough, vulnerable and smoking hot. Her relationship with Silas is mesmerizing and they are the total package.

When the secrets come out, will their relationship be able to stand? Shoot, no spoilers but you know Nikki doesn't leave loose ends or keep us blindfolded.

Nikki is a genius at creating undie melting scenes that may cause car crashes if you aren't paying attention to the road. In fact, don't listen and drive. You can't do it without crashing. or almost crashing.

Muffy Newtown is just....Damn she is awesome. The way she paces and sounds so natural with all things orgasm, humor, hurt, pain and anger...She is by far one of audios most talented narrators!!!

Great Look at How to Be My Best

The way the world is today, we need to have more motivational books that offer hope and direction on how to achieve our Highest and Best in every area of life. Lynn Coffey gives that with her narration. She is full of energy and captivates the listener in each chapter.
I've taken this concept and applied it to my personal and professional life.

The last three chapters were the best. It was very difficult to enjoy the performance of Guy Locke. I woulld have preferred Stephanie to narrate the entire book. He didn't really pull off any of the charaters.

I will be listening to the final book because I don't like cliffhangers.
