Cute retelling of a childhood classic

This is a the tale of the 3 little pigs with a little bit of a twist from the classic tale. I haven't heard this version so it made it enjoyable for me since it wasn't the "standard" 3 little pigs. My kids like this book as it isn't so long that they get bored listening to it (they are 3 and 6).

The narration was very easy to listen to and both of my kids enjoyed her reading. We have listed to this book too many times to count since downloading it.

2nd chances and sports, whats not to love?!?

Would you listen to Breakaway again? Why?

Yes, I would listen to this story again as it has enough going on that it keeps the reader/listener interested throughout it. I never felt like I was bored or that I wanted to fast forward to "get to the good stuff" like I do in some other stories.

What about Tracy Marks and Aaron Shedlock ’s performance did you like?

Both Tracy and Aaron narrate in a way the bring their characters to life. They put a lot of emotion and passion into their narration so you can feel their characters in their storytelling. Their tones, paces and inflections blend together perfectly to make this story work well.

Love blooms here

Seized by Love is the first book in the Love in Bloom/Ryders Series. This book is about Blue Ryder and Lizzie Barber's love story. Lizzie is flower shop owner during the day and the "Naked Baker" by Night. Her nighttime job however it mainly to put her sister though school and use the extra money to pay off her flower shop. Lizzie and Blue have known each other for years and Blue finally talks Lizzie into allowing her to date him but Lizzie fears her secret night job will be the end of their relationship.

This was my first book of Melissa's and I found it to be well thought out and her characters very well written. There was a lot of character development and I felt like I really connected to them throughout the storyline. Melissa puts a lot of emotions into her characters and you can feel them in her writing style. There is also some great sex scenes which is always nice in a romance novel. I like that I also got to know other characters and want to read their books as well.

Fighting for love, Enzo style

Where does Fighting Dirty rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I'm going to answer this in comparison to the other in this series, this was my least favorite of the series as it didn't have as much of the MMA as the others did. It was more focused on the love life and lives outside the ring. It title of the book and the series itself made me think it was going to be like the rest and have more MMA in it but it really didn't have anything until the very end besides a few comments here and there that Enzo wanted to do MMA but didn't have much time for it.

Have you listened to any of Lacy Laurel’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to other books narrated by Lacy Laurel before. This one wasn't my favorite by her probably because she had to do some accents that she didn't quite perfect right. The Texan accent wasn't quite right most of the time...it sounded like it was southern not Texan. The rest of the narration is great, her speed, inflections, etc are great...it's just the accent that wasn't quite right. I wouldn't let that stop me from buying this book as it's a small part of the book.

One Nighter turns office romance

Would you be willing to try another book from Stacey Kennedy? Why or why not?

Yes, I liked Stacey's writing style, the narration wasn't my favorite though. I would be willing to give the narrator another listen with another book and see if my opinion is any more favorable.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I think this may have been better if it had dual/duet narration. I found the male narration to be a little rough for a female and a bit monotonous at times. He did a good job for the male voice as he does have a good deep voice but I couldn't get into the book when he was reading for a female character.

Was Heartbreaker worth the listening time?

There were times I started to tune out of the story and had to stop listening and pick back up the story at a later time. There were also a lot of editing errors that made it hard to listen to the story (lines being repeated, etc).

Any additional comments?

Cute Tail of love in small town

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Overall I felt the book was pretty well written. It has a lot of different things going on from heartaches, corporate takeovers, small town drama/rumormills, land development, grudges (local vs tourists) and lots of love drama. Of course we also can't forget about MAX the dog...he is also in the book a lot and who can't enjoy a book with a main character that is a dog :)

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

The ending felt a little rushed, after all the buildup suddenly it was all over. I would have liked to have seen a little more resolution before things worked out. I did like the epilogue and how things worked out there but the resolution in the chapter(s) before that felt rushed.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I liked the female narrator but the male narrator wasn't my favorite. I've listened to him in other stories but I don't think he fit the part as well in this book.

Texas Sized Romance

Is there anything you would change about this book?

For me I had a hard time getting into this book. There were times I had to put it down and start it again. I could guess what was going to happen and it was pretty stereotypical so that may have been a lot of the problem for me.

If you’ve listened to books by R.R. Banks before, how does this one compare?

This was my first R.R. Banks story and I thought the characters were well developed and overall the book was well written but it was a little "fluffy" and parts could have been left out.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Possibly, it does seem pretty well developed like it was made for a movie. It is a has drama, comedy and love. (reminds me of a 27 dresses style movie)

Any additional comments?

If you are looking for a romance to escape into that is a typical love romance this should be right up your alley.

nothing missing from this story...

Would you consider the audio edition of Missing from Me to be better than the print version?

Absolutely...the narration of Jacob Morgan and Elena Wolfe was amazing. The emotions portrayed by both narrators were above and beyond and took this book to the next level. If you were just reading the book you would not have felt these characters.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Missing from Me?

The ending of the book, I will not give anything away but how Sean displayed his love for Anna again was amazing. I loved how he finally broke down his walls for her and hers too.

Which scene was your favorite?

I loved the scene when Sean first to Anna to the house and she saw how much of his house was about her. From the Willowtree to the house looking out over the lake. She may not have been willing to see everything at that point in the story but it really was about her when he built the house.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I had so many emotions in this book, Willow's innocence made me laugh and smile at times. Other times I was in tears from the heartbreaking hurt caused by miscommunication and lack of communication in this book. There are so many feels in this book, buckle up it's a ride.

Who wouldn't want Man Hands On You??

Would you try another book from Tanya Eby and Sarina Bowen and/or Luke Daniels and Erin Mallon ?

Yes, they make a great writing Duo. I love both writers separately and together they make a great combo!

Which character – as performed by Luke Daniels and Erin Mallon – was your favorite?

I loved Tom and performed by Luke Daniels - he did a great job bringing this character to life. However I wish I could say the same for Brynn. Tried as I could, I just couldn't love her character as much. She drove me crazy a lot throughout the story. Erin Mallon did a great job narrating her character but it was the character herself that drove me up a wall.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Absolutely, it wasn't heavy on drama and the comedy level reminded my of some of the older comedy like I love Lucy which I loved to watch growing up (even though it was all reruns for me). It was a very funny romance that wasn't heavy but cute and lighthearted.

A look into a broken court system

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, this is a very interesting book that makes you think about how our court system is run and how broken it really can be. We think it is "just and fair" but there are so many things as citizens who haven't experiences a court date never would imagine.

What other book might you compare Courtroom 302 to and why?

I personally haven't experienced another book that I could compare it to.

What does Mark Kamish bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The subject matter of the book can be rather dry so by listening to the audio you can get some emotion behind the words that you wouldn't have if you were just reading the book. This is especially true when you are reading something from an inmates/defendant's point of view.

Any additional comments?

This book points out many points of view - from a judge, inmate, lawyer, guard, etc. It shows where the system is falling down and points where we are doing okay. I personally liked hearing about real like trials that went on during the time the books was written and also about the people affected in the book. It was interesting to hear the back story of the people on trial and also the victims. It's interesting to also hear how much unnecessary info is presented at trial but how much info that should be presented is not. The whole criminal process was eye opening in this book.
