Awesome book’

Ok, so I had to leave a review on this one because I left such a poor review on the first one. I am so glad that I decided to give this book a chance since it had a different narrator from the first one. Wow. I was on the edge of my seat toward the end. I loved it! The narrator was great and I felt like I was actually in the story. And of course, the story itself was extremely engaging. I am going to check out book 3 now.

Terrible narrator, ok story

The narrator is pretty bad. I feel bad because I only leave reviews for the bad ones, but it’s because I felt like I wasted money on this and I do not wish this fate on anyone else. The narrator puts pauses and periods where there shouldn’t be. For example, if the sentence was “He looked around the corner carefully, hoping to see his friends waiting for him.”, the narrator would read it “He looked around. The corner carefully, hoping to see. His friends waiting for him. “ It was just very irritating and if I hadn’t paid for the book, I would not have finished it. I did notice that there is a different narrator on the second one, so hopefully he is better. I did like the actual story, it was just slightly hard to follow with the terrible reading. I guess I will write a review on the second one as well. Hopefully that review will be better!

Awful story

The writing wasn't terrible, but the story was awful. The premise is basically that this pilot from the future crashes in the mountains, and this woman sees the crash and rescues him. Basically, she is like "Oh, he's super cute, but I caaaaan't!" Then it gets a little weird, because he falls on top of her while he's nude (I mean, really?). After that, it gets a little rape-y because he forces her to kiss him- but don't worry, it's ok because she likes it. Because that's what happens in real life, I guess. Good to know. Anyway, shortly after that she realizes she's in love with him. Now remember, she has only known him for about a day now. And don't forget about him forcing her to kiss him. I thought this would be a fun fantasy book. Maybe it still is a fantasy, but I feel like there should have been a warning. "Warning: Romantically unrealistic, rape-y book ahead! (But don't worry-secretly she likes it!)"

Pretty terrible

The story was pretty terrible and horribly slow. I did listen to the entire thing, but I had to keep checking the time left because I just wanted it to be over! It was really anticlimactic and full of clichés. I was very disappointed in the story. However, I feel that the narrator made the book much worse than it actually was. All of the voices sounded the same, and the narrator barely put any inflection into any of her voices. It was a pretty awful experience. It was so monotonous that I actually forgot that I was listening to a book a few times and zoned out. It was like some monks chanting for a few hours. Terrible unless you tone them out and make them background noise for something fun. Overall, I will not read/listen to this author again and I will most CERTAINLY NOT listen to anything by this narrator. I'm pretty upset that I even paid for this book. Lesson learned, I suppose.

Ok book, awful narration..

The book was really not that bad. It wasn't the best writing, but I did appreciate some of the descriptive scenes. What really made this book bad for me was the narrator. It sounded like he was not used to reading out loud. When he would say a sentence, it sounded like there was a period in the middle of it, if that makes sense. He also mispronounced SO many words! I think if someone like Luke Daniels or Amy McFadden had narrated this, it would have been so much better! As it was, I just wanted them to hurry up and find out what was going on so I could stop listening. The narrator did have a pleasant enough voice. If the narrator said a sentence like this, " The man went to the store yesterday. ", the narrator would read it like this, "The man went to. The store yesterday. " I mean, really? It made some of the story very hard to understand. He ruined it for me. So I guess I will just make sure I pay attention and play a sample before I purchase it. I am so disappointed.

I love this book!

I just cannot get over my disappointment that there isn't a third book yet! I am so invested in this series now. I was a little wary at first because when it started off, I wasn't interested in the story. But then I kept going (this seems to happen to me a lot!) and now I'm hooked. I may not even wait for the audio version. I need to read the next book yesterday! I cannot BELIEVE the author would put out a book and then not have the entire rest of the series available immediately, ha! Anyway, I can't wait. I feel like this book was better than the first, so I can only imagine how great the next one will be.

Great story!

The book started out pretty slowly as it usually does with this author. But since I had read his books before, I decided to stick it out. I'm glad I did! It got really intense and I did not even have an idea of who was going to do what until the main character did. But it still all made sense in the end. That's really rare for me to read (or listen to in this case) a book and not be able to figure out who did it AND have it make sense in the end! Once again, an AMAZING book by a wonderful author. It WAS very intense in some places, but well worth it. And the character development was honest and believable. I loved it!

Slow at first, but good.

This was really, really slow and boring at first. But I am so glad that I stuck with it! It got to the point that I couldn't even go to bed because I needed to know what happened!! It does get w little intense, so I don't know if I can go immediately to the next book. I usually need a comedic book in between, lol. But I do recommend this book!

Loved it

Once again, I was on the edge of my seat while listening to this book! I was hooked after the first one. I'm only sad that I have to wait a few weeks for the next one... And that book 3 is supposed to be the last one! This is such an interesting concept and I am glad that I took a chance on the series. I think I might have to go ahead and get the other books by this author...!
