Tough going

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes, but with reservations. "Best Served Cold" is served up with a heaping helping of foul language, liberally slathered in gore, both of which mar and muffle the otherwise good writing. And yet, I kept listening. A long, cynical, grim, dark, cheerless book, with a tiny glimmer in the darkness only at the end. Not a book for kids or those with delicate sensibilities.

Would you ever listen to anything by Joe Abercrombie again?

Not without some serious hesitation and only after perusing a number of reviews.

Which character – as performed by Michael Page – was your favorite?

Do you think Best Served Cold needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No. At more than 27 hours, the story the book tells is probably too long already.

A Dark Green

My first Nightside book. I read it because of the Excalibur angle.
I wasn't bored. The book is fairly fast-paced and almost off-handedly violent--but it's fun in a sort of distopian, over-the-top way.
