Best coverage of Middle East History

As much as I love most of the great courses I’ve listened to, yet this course definitely ranks among the best.
Covering the history of the region from the founding of Islam till the fall of the Ottoman Empire, the course covers all the major events and turning points and how they affected the history of the region.

Balanced and thoughtful analysis of the Prophets life

Karen presents a well researched, balanced, deep, and thoughtful analysis of the life and the message of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.

In our troubling times of struggle and human fraction, the message of the life of Muhammad is needed to unite and rekindle the brotherhood of the human race.

I would recommend muslims and non muslims alike to read this book in a state of peace and contemplation, to set aside their predisposed prejudices, and to open their hearts to the message of peace, love to all, and unconditional surrender to the divine.

Thank you Karen for this heart warming journey.

Deep work on the shadow

This is not a book to listen to while commuting or for leisure. It is a deep book working on the darkest sides of our being.
Listen to it slowly, in small segments
Do the meditations and work prescribed
Keep a pen and paper for taking notes

By doing so you will cultivate the wisdom and enlightened guidance in the book. Otherwise you will get bored and drift off track, and you will have no idea of what is going on.

Thank you Robert
This was enlightening

Buy the book

Would you ever listen to anything by the authors again?

yes, the authors are great, and i believe the program is very helpful. but the format in which it was presented isnt helpful without the book. this should be a companion audio for the book, rather than a standalone item.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Mindfulness?

I would make it follow the book precisely. organize it into chapters instead of small tidbits. make it whispersync ready, and connect it to the book.

Any additional comments?

I really wouldnt advise anyone to get this audiobook unless they have the print or kindle book and use this as a companion guide only.

Great course

Prof. Grim provides a great course on consciousness, covering philosophy, psychology, and neuroscience.
I enjoyed the course very much, and was even taking notes all along.
Highly recommended for anyone interested in the topic.

Good message, fair execution

I totally agree with the message of the book. I have been to some extent championing this for quotes a while.
Yet the content, organization, and depth of the book need reassessment and rearranging.
It wasn't clear to me what type of background the author was assuming in the reader. Their was also no suggestion as to how the goals of the book may be achieved.
A very good starting effort, but still lacking much depth and organization.

Couldn't stop listening

This book moved my heart. Retelling the modern history of Afghanistan through the tale of a couple of little girls.
I started it and couldn't let it down, finishing it in two days. Rarely does s novel ever do this to me.
I've been in need for something to soften my heart, and this did the job superbly. Thank you Hosseini.

Great book, poor narration

A great book of course. But got a bit too technical when discussing the origins of the universe.
After reading Michio Kaku first I can now see that he followed Hawking's path but made it much simpler and more user friendly.
Yet still this is a must read. No one interested in these topics can be without it.

The narration though had so much to be desired. I hope the book is updated with a better narration. The language is pretty clear, but the pace was terribly inappropriate for the content.
