makes you worry
it's scary how easily the events in this book could happen. the things they do to create the city and then the lies they tell to maintain the status quo are just scary. looking forward to the sequel, and seeing if things get better or worse. There is no adult content.
a little different
you have a series of events that are shown from different characters POV. at first I thought it was repeating but each person adds a little more to what is really going on till you get the whole picture. they're all getting played but if you don't see the individual pieces and the whole you don't get it. it's an interesting premise with our current desire for the latest tech. there is a couple of chapters towards the end that actually do repeat though. the ending really is a big surprise. you will not see it coming. I would recommend older teen and up considering some topics. may contain triggers for some at the very end.
better and better
this one really got me. action, danger, Easter eggs!, and suspense. man this book has it all and then some. I recommend reading the other books first as everything is tied together. there's violence and some cursing.
so much going on here for the series and the characters personally. I highly recommend you read these in order as you will not get the emotional impact of some scenes. Jules has to come to terms with her the evolution of her AI, missions become more dangerous, and new characters join the team. there's violence, and cursing. no adult content.
man oh man the things in this book kept me hooked! Samantha is now fully herself having regained her memories and has great snark. she finds out a lot of people in her life are supernatural and she's more important than any could have guessed. as she tries to deal with heartbreak and werewolf attacks she discovers there's more to her magic than she thought. there's some explicit adult content and violence.
more action, more everything
if you like the first one you'll really like this one. it picks right where the last one ended so I suggest reading the first one so you know what's happening. both books are pretty fast paced so you don't want to be behind. the narrator changed teach's voice a bit and I like it a lot. at first it seems a little stiff but then his excitement comes creeping back in after around chapter 2 and it's off and running. the crew is still after the real master mind behind everything and runs into a few surprises. some new faces join up and add some interesting Dynamics. lots of sci-fi fun! there's violence, drinking and some light cursing but no adult content.
I know nothing of the original books that this story is tied too, but it has left me wanting more. I don't really agree with the voice the narrator gave to Eddie. it makes him sound like an over excitable teenager not an experienced soldier. however the story is excellent and the world building is great as well. I was drawn in as different aliens and their worlds were introduced. there's cursing, violence, and attitude. no adult content.
snarky magical sass
Azure, I love Azure. she's fun, sassy, and on a mission. her friend Monet kind of bugged me a little, but maybe it's because I'm used to reading about strong male leads? this story is really interesting about the way it sticks technology and magic on the same planet and of course there is distrust and lies. there's two different types of views trying to survive. it's a really different mix. there is no adult content.
deceit and lies
oh Nikki has been hiding a Whopper of a secret from her friends, and Indiana gets drug into the middle of it. Wade is back seeking revenge, and things get pretty interesting. there is adult content.
dang this poor guy had to work for it! I love a girl with some determination though. I recommend reading book 4 before this one as this picks up right where it left off, and you won't be confused. there's adult content, and fun in the water.
