Great start, disappointing end

I listened raptly, but the final chapter was disappointing because everything happened off stage, so to speak. The resolution is conveyed through news reports. Still, it was a fun ride.

Compelling but far fetched

This was a compulsive listen, and I don't regret spending a credit on it. But so many elements of the story turn out to be dead ends, and ultimately the story is very far fetched.

Not crazy about the narration

The narrator has a very nice voice, but his adapting his voice for the characters' transformations was distracting.

Suitable for kids, fun for adults

An excellent reader contributed to this adventure story. It stands on its own (no cliffhanger), but I'm looking forward to the next one.

Not as good as A Discovery of Witches

Any additional comments?

Shadow of Night didn't have as much suspense as A Discovery of Witches did. There was a lot of reveling in historical detail at the expense of moving the plot forward.

Love the characters

Any additional comments?

I've listened to all of Tana French's mysteries because I love her characters so much. Her plots tend to be too implausible for my tastes, but I'm not a huge fan of the mystery genre.
