Not The Best Effort
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Not if they had not heard any of the previous efforts
Would you ever listen to anything by Tim Dorsey again?
All of his books. Rabid fan.
Which character – as performed by Oliver Wyman – was your favorite?
Serge of course
Could you see Coconut Cowboy being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Any or all of Tim Dorsey's books could be a TV series.
Any additional comments?
Too many characters are missing. Johnny Vega, The G Unit, Ect.
Tim got away from South Florida. Big Mistake.
I'm waiting for the next effort. Come on Tim!
Possibly the slowest book I have ever listened too
What disappointed you about Power Down?
Really poor narration the reader voices are terrible.
What was most disappointing about Ben Coes’s story?
Super slow never reaches a point.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Her voices are terrible
A excellent Sci Fi series
It is apparent that Mr Scalzi is a fan of Robert Heinlein and other 1950/60's authors. Like Heinlein Scalzi gives a subtle physics and math lesson with every book.
The characters are well built and carried throughout the series.
I just happened on the first book and was hooked. It may be that the hero is just a little bit older than me and I identify with the feelings.
You can't read/listen to just one.
The narration is very good.
Just good ole hill country folks
Looks like I am in for the long haul for the whole series. The author knows the area and folks of which he writes.
This book is much better as he concentrates on the Hill Country folks rather than the Austin Liberals.
The characters are some I have known or am possibly related to.
What did you love best about Gun Shy?
The setting and the characters are great. I could identify with the local area and swear I know some of those folks
What other book might you compare Gun Shy to and why?
Any other Ben Rehder books
Which scene was your favorite?
Any additional comments?
My only problem with this book is I think the author has spent too much time in Austin Texas and my be drinking the liberal kool aid. He seems to knock the 2nd amendment culture but cant quite bring himself to risk pissing off these folks by actually saying he is anti-gun.
Starts slow but is thoroughly enjoyable.
It doesn't matter if you are a mil lineal or 65. If you remember the 80"s you will enjoy the book and narration by Will Wheaton.
