a work in progress
I am all for a little wish fulfillment, but it was hard to get all the way through this book. the power system is in need of refinements, with the supers not being knowledgeable and testing themself to their limits. I was able to come up with many uses for the "lower" classed supers that would have made them more useful. the protagonist seemed to be ok...but went from being a control freak to a all out psycho. her powers got to be fairly annoying, and went from a low power she had to have repetitive use to make work, to an almost all powerful compulsion power.....had she been that powerful in the beginning, she would have indoctrinate each student coming in and been unbeatable. Hopefully the writer will grow and any further books will be better. the style of writing worked, and I will give them a second try later.

OK Story Made Better by Good Narration
The story was a little ridiculous at times. The world Petracci creates is unique and interesting, but the story he tells taking place in that world is a bit disjointed. The motivations and actions of the characters and some of the details don't really hold up under scrutiny. It was distracting, but didn't stop me from enjoying the book. I probably won't be looking for follow up stories set in this world or written by this author, but it was an enjoyable book, in that I finished it and was curious where it was going to end.
I thoroughly enjoyed the narration by Watt. Admittedly, the narrator's voice annoyed me at first, but I warmed up to it, and I enjoyed his take on the characters. He made the story much better than it should have been I think.
