Not for me!

I confess that I only listened to 4 chapters before deciding that this book is not for me. The backstory has been used several times before, usually to good effect. Here, I don’t like the direction it was taking. I will return it.

Get over 1st gut feeling of James Bugler becomes intriguing, interesting and tear wrenching.

Frustrating and poorly written

As I listened I checked up on the author, thinking it might be a self published book by a novice - turns out this woman has written tons. I found the authorship turgid and irritating, with repetitive descriptions and lame characterisation.
I gave it till the end thinking there might be worthy twists in the tale, but it was very formulaic, with so much more potential than she gave it.
I've (I think) generously given the narrator two stars. She was not great either I'm afraid, but did her best wish what she had, lots of stop starts and too much reliance on accents (she is good at them, but they're often distracting).

Not for those who don’t enjoy a Bristol accent!

Slow and poor ending! I wouldn’t waste your time on listening. Had such higher expectations!
