I'm no prude but...

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would recommend the book with an asterisk. I enjoyed the story and the performance but the overly detailed sex scenes and the slang used for anatomy seemed superfluous, outdated and really unnecessary to moving the story forward. There was a lot of sex and little romance; so much so that I think it would be off-putting to many.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Seeing Red?

I won't give specifics because I don't want to tip off readers to the story but there were several aha moments that weren't entirely predictable.

Which character – as performed by Victor Slezak – was your favorite?

How about my least favorite? I thought the performance on all characters was good except Trapper. His accent wasn't consistent, the delivery sporadically laconic and sometimes he sounded too much like other characters.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Probably would be more suited for a Hallmark movie Saturday afternoon.

Any additional comments?

This was my first book by Ms. Brown and I did enjoy the story but the sex took away from it--as I said in the headline I am no prude but I think the graphic descriptions and the puerile slang just made the listen uncomfortable. It wasn't sexual tension, rather graphic depiction.

Embarrassed to be listening

Enjoyed the story. Vulgar language and sex made me uncomfortable. Sandra Brown has done better

Sandra Brown is great.

Again I am on the edge of my seat until the very end. without giving away the plot you may think you know who is behind the killings but you will be wrong.

Welcome Back Victor

Where does Seeing Red rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I'm a long time fan of author and she never disappoints. She has mystery with a twist which is her signature writing, but since she started as a core romance writer, Ms Brown can add some sizzle in just a few words or scenes. (Do Not miss Mean Streak, reader Jonathan Davis, wow!)

What did you like best about this story?

If you liked author's short novel Prime time, this is on steroids!!

Which character – as performed by Victor Slezak – was your favorite?

I have all of Mr Slezak's Sandra Brown's reads. He brings the best out of all the characters as he interprets author so well. He adds so much to her writing.
My fave is White Hot unabridged if you can find it. Smoke Screen, and Lethal.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I always love the moment of truth that Ms Brown includes in each of her mystery novel. This book was worth the year long wait.

Any additional comments?

note: I do use the new 1.25x speed to match the author's intent.
I hope this was helpful?
