Sorry Nora, this one isn't good enough...

Any additional comments?

...and seven hours too long. And the narrator, no, not a good choice to put it mildly. In short, did Nora really write this book?

Disappointing and predictable

Not one of her best. The narrators voice has strident edge to it.
The story seemed better than it was. I'm not a trained investigator but the villain was so obvious, I stuck with this waiting for the twist that would prove me wrong. Sorry to say I'm still waiting!

ok but not her best

Follows the general Nora Roberts formula, but several scenes have been lifted straight out of previous books. Maybe I've got used to the tension and suspense in her J D Robb books, but I found the storyline bland and the passion between the characters lacking.

Narration was not bad, but it was difficult to hear the difference between characters in conversations as her female voices sounded too similar.

Overall ok, but not a patch on her Chesapeake novels or the High Noon era writing.

Feel-good classic Nora Roberts

Shannon McManus delivers the story with perfection. You know what you’re getting with Nora Roberts: exquisite descriptive writing, a ‘good dog’, strong characterisation and small town America.

Too much chick lit, not enough thriller.

This book started in an exciting way and I really enjoyed the first half of it. Sadly, I was unable to finish the book as it became rather tedious. It's part chick lit part thriller. For my tastes, it's too much chick lit and not enough thriller. I didn't have the patience to get through the tedium of Naomi falling in love to get to the next real twist in the plot.

Cringe

Really cringe worthy dialogue. Not sure if this had to do with the reader or the material, probably a bit of both.
