It's a shame that the writer did not sell his idea to a better writer because the plot had promise. For those of us who like the genre, it seemed like a different take. Alas, the writing was so poor and the dialogue so insipid that I could not make it to the end--even when I was trying to force myself just to see if the silly storyline (with the ridiculous, one-dimensional characters) went anywhere. Finally gave up with 1 hour and 22 minutes remaining. The narrator does not help. My recommendation is to avoid this. There so much better out there.

This is the first zombie apocalypse book that I have ever read that had a cure and what happened afterward. It was awesome! The narrator was excellent! A must read!

One of the BEST Zombie Stories out There

What made the experience of listening to After the Cure the most enjoyable?

The experience of the narrator's voice (Miles Taber) gives this story a wonderful depth. He sounds like a born story-teller. Pausing just right, for the right amounts of time - he made me wish to listen to this story indefinitely. Excellent choice to narrate this book. ----------- Taking a zombie event to the next level - finding a 'cure' - was truly a mind blowing event. This book is an incredibly well thought out story about the aftermath of horrors beyond imagination. Deirdre Gould had me shaking in my socks. If prone to nightmares I would have been afraid to go to sleep. It was everything ANYONE could ever want out of a Zombie book - and more.

Good story....robotic narration

Any additional comments?

Pretty good story. Interesting take on the idea of a zombie apocalypse. Likable characters that made me want to keep listening. However, the stiff, robotic delivery of the narrator was sometimes distracting. At times when the characters should be passionate or very emotional, he just read it straight. It wasn't enough to make me stop listening, but it was definitely enough to take me out of the story.

Better Than I Thought At First

This isn't the best book I've ever read or listened to, but, it is so much better than many in terms of character development. Overall, I think this book is good and deserves to be read even though the narrator is a little lacking.

After the Cure Audio Book Review

Would you try another book from Deirdre Gould and/or Miles Taber?

Would you recommend After the Cure to your friends? Why or why not?

Yes, but only to a selected few. I would recommend to readers of apocalyptic-type books who like and believe in the legal system/court process.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The narrator's natural voice is very easy to listen to. I personally didn't care for his other voice characterizations.

Any additional comments?

I was given a free copy of this audio book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you for the opportunity, Ms. Gould!
