Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
The 20 minutes I spent were certainly a curiosity. I had no idea that televised cricket actually had a history!
However, my expectation of reading about Wide World of Sport, the NFL/AFL rivalry, etc - ie, the US part of the story - seem to be nonexistent. This is a book about British sport and British TV.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I'd have left out cricket and covered US sports and TV.
What does Martin Kelner bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He reads out loud, and I read silently.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
If this were a documentary with old footage, yes, it would be very interesting. Even the part about cricket. Maybe.
Any additional comments?
Hey Audible - how about mentioning somewhere in the product description that this product is about English sports/TV!
