Scarlett O'hara meet Mary Toliver

Leila Meacham, in my opinion, is one of the best writers I have ever read. The complexity of her characters is beautiful and the story a story full of depth.

I couldn't put the book down or should I say take the ear bud out. Truly an amazing book. Even my husband enjoyed listening to it.

A Modern Gone with the Wind

I like to get an audio book thats long in hours and worth the listen and that's what you'll get with Roses. The narration is soothing, with great southern accents and yet well done character voices. The main characters were very believable and I found myself thinking about them until I could get back to my ipod. Overall a very enthralling historical, family "mystery" romance.

A Great Book

Where does Roses rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Very high. I really enjoyed this storyline.

What does Coleen Marlo bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She puts so much expression into her characters making the listener feel as if they are actually in the moment.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No. I travel a lot and I love listening to books on audio while driving. I do not like sitting still to read or even listen; I like listening while on the move. I can start and stop at my convenience, and I can do a short rewind or go back to the beginning of a chapter.
