Tracy L. Carbone spent most of her life residing in small, cozy New England towns but moved to Southern California several years ago where the sunshine is plentiful and her dogs can go outside without sweaters. Until now, most of her published works have been adult novels and short stories in the mystery, thriller, and horror genres. In 2021 she discovered a love of oil painting, and has begun using that medium to tell different, more uplifting stories for children, starring her adorable dog Granola Barr. The first of these Granola Barr books in the series is Goodbye Grandma Anna, published August 2022. It’s an endearing tale of a puppy whose doggy companion passes away but returns as a ghost to ease her sorrow. It follows Granola’s journey from sadness to acceptance and finally to joy. Ms. Carbone’s horror and literary short stories have appeared in dozens of anthologies and magazines in the U.S. and Canada. She is an active member of the Horror Writers Association, and former Co-chair of the New England Horror Writers. She edited their Bram Stoker Award nominated anthology, Epitaphs, a creepy collection of horror stories and poems by the group's authors including a handful of NY Times bestsellers. To date, she has published six novels and two short story collections. Plus this shiny, new illustrated children’s book. 2022 Goodbye Grandma Anna.
