Subir Chowdhury (www.subirchowdhury.com) is chairman and CEO of ASI Consulting Group, a global leader on strategic initiatives, quality consulting, and training. He has helped hundreds of companies to transform their organizations by embracing quality and develop processes that increased profitability by saving billions of dollars and increase market share. Known as the ‘Quality Prophet’ in the words of BusinessWeek magazine, he is one of the most influential thinkers in the world by Thinkers 50 in UK. He has been a pioneer in championing the Quality movement across the globe through his thought-provoking ideas, unique methods, pedagogy and passion. Subir is the author of fifteen books, including several international bestsellers, The Difference (2017), The Ice Cream Maker (2005), Design for Six Sigma (2002), and The Power of Six Sigma (2001). His books have been translated into more than twenty languages. In 2017, India’s most respected Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur established the Subir Chowdhury School of Quality and Reliability, the first of its kind in the world to promote the education and research on quality. He has received numerous prestigious awards from different professional engineering societies including SME Gold Medal awarded by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Henry Ford Distinguished Award for Excellence in Automotive Engineering awarded by the Society of Automotive Engineers International, Philip B. Crosby Medal and Cecil C Craig Lifetime Achievement Award awarded by the American Society for Quality, Hall of Fame for Engineering, Science and Technology. U.S. Department of Homeland Security honored him with Outstanding American by Choice Award for his lifetime contributions in enhancing quality of engineering and management. In 2021 the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers recognized him with its prestigious Honorary Member Award. Born in Chittagong, Bangladesh, Subir currently lives with his family in Los Angeles, California.
