Shelly L. Francis is an author, speaker, publisher, and author coach, encouraging people to unleash their creative courage. Her latest book is "Eleven Brave Pinecones" featuring the wooden art manikin she calls Emotikin (or the Inner Artist personified). Having forgotten how to play and feel carefree, the Emotikin brought her back to life. She began “metaphortography” and blogging for soul sustenance and fun in 2003, and is now happy to share the book, as well as Supposing: Reflections for Accessing Your Wise Inner Artist, a digital card deck on the Deckible app. Shelly is also author of "The Courage Way: Leading & Living with Integrity" (Berrett-Koehler, 2018), written on behalf of the Center for Courage & Renewal during her tenure there as the marketing and communications director. Before that, Shelly directed trade marketing and publicity for multi-media publisher Sounds True, Inc. The common thread throughout Shelly’s career has been bringing to light best-kept secrets — technology, services, resources, ideas — while bringing people together to facilitate collective impact and good work. Shelly is now the publisher at Creative Courage Press in Colorado, where she is collaborating with other authors to create more courage for the complexity of being human.
