Phyllice Bradner moved to Alaska in 1966. After 39 exciting (and chilly) years she relocated to McMinnville, Oregon where she became a founding member of Currents Art Gallery. She has a grown son who is interested in art and is a bookseller in Portland. Phyllice is an award-winning graphic designer and fine artist, a published writer, former antique shop owner, historic restorationist, and has been a political print consultant on many statewide campaigns including four gubernatorial and five U.S. Senate races.
Over the years she has won four Alaska Press Club awards and two National awards for newsletter publications. Phyllice is the co-author of Touring Juneau, a guidebook, and the Juneau Centennial Cookbook. As publication specialist for the Alaska Division of Tourism, she authored many visitor-oriented publications for the State of Alaska. As a free-lance writer and designer, she produced numerous reports and informational pieces for Alaska Native corporations, the Alaska Native Foundation and clients such as British Petroleum, RCA, Sohio, Alaska Legal Services, U.S. Forest Service and the U.S. Department of the Interior. She also designed and coordinated restoration of the Alaska Governor's Mansion and Capitol Building.
...But that was in her boring past. Now she prefers to create whimsical art and write entertaining mysteries with her sister Morgan.
