Jerry was born in San Francisco in 1936 and lived in the sunny Mission District. After graduating from high school, he joined the Air Force. After finishing mechanic school in Amarillo, Texas, he was stationed at Randolph Air force, also in Texas. During his time at Randolph, Jerry received his private pilot's license. Flying was to become a good part of his life. Upon leaving the Air Force he became a mechanic for a major airline. While being a mechanic is very important to the airline industry, it was not something Jerry enjoyed, he did everything he could to move on. He took people on tours of the maintenance base where he worked. He did a number of other special assignments and was eventually noticed by a vice president who recommended him to become a public relations person on-board 747 and DC-10 aircraft. Later, Jerry became a supervisor of Flight Attendants on-board the same aircraft. Sadly, that position was discontinued after four years and Jerry went back to being a mechanic. The depression was more than he could handle, so he left the airline and bought a restaurant in Oregon. Shortly after leaving the airline, he married his wife Barbara who is now retired after 34 years as a Flight Attendant. He always says, he had a chance to choose the best from his flying days. They now live on a small airport in Oregon. Not being able to get the airline flying days out of his mind, he spent several years writing his book of fiction using some ideas from his flying days. This book would make a great movie and Jerry is working to that end.
