Daleen Berry is a New York Times best-selling author and TED speaker who was born in San Jose, California, but whose parents moved her across country to rural West Virginia. There, they let her have all the cats she wanted, so she was happy. When she isn't writing, she's reading. Since 1988 she has been an award-winning print journalist, columnist and editor who recently crossed over to write for online publications such as The Daily Beast, Huffington Post, and the BBC. "Sister of Silence," a memoir, is her first book. Since then she has written or co-written eight other nonfiction books, including "The Savage Murder of Skylar Neese," "Pretty Little Killers," "Cheatin' Ain't Easy," "Tales of the Vintage Berry Wine Gang," "Shatter the Silence," the sequel to SOS and, "Appalachian Murders & Mysteries," an anthology. In 2015, West Virginia University placed "Sister of Silence" and "Guilt by Matrimony" on its Appalachian Literature list. You can follow her blog here: http://www.daleenberry.com. Or find her on Facebook and Twitter, as well as email her at daleen(dot)berry(at)gmail(dot)com. She loves to hear from readers.
