Amy Gillett is one of the world's leading experts on American English idioms, slang, and expressions and is the author of six books on this topic. In writing Speak Better Business English and Make More Money, Speak English Like an American, More Speak English Like an American, Speak Business English Like an American, Speak English Around Town, and her newest book, American College Slang, Gillett draws on her years of experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) in the USA and Europe. She has taught business English to executives from ICBC of China, the world's largest bank. She has taught at Cornell University, University of Michigan, and Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, among other places. Her students are always pleased by her lively teaching style. Now students of English from all over the world are benefiting by using her popular book and CD sets. Gillett was featured in the Wall Street Journal article "Mastering the Finer Points of American Slang." Gillett's writing has appeared in many publications, including Mad Magazine, the San Francisco Chronicle, and Family Circle. She majored in Slavic Languages and Literature at Stanford University and holds an MBA from Cornell University.
