Excellent introduction to Taekwondo

A few months ago, my son started taking Taekwondo, and he's getting really interested in it. While his instructor tells them a little bit about history and philosophy during classes, my son felt that he wasn't getting enough information about its history, philosophy, etiquette, and other details.

He wanted more information about Taekwondo and he wanted it quickly, but he's a busy kid, with all his homework and other activities. Taekwondo: A Practical Guide to the World's Most Popular Martial Art by Bill and Katie Pottle is perfect, as he can listen to it while exercising or doing chores.

The book is easy enough to follow in the audio format, and Adam Crafter does a wonderful job narrating it, with all the rights pauses and emphasis. A great resource for anyone interested in Taekwondo.

I WISH EVERY INFO BOOK WAS SO EASY TO DIGEST!

This is a very good source of easy to mentally digest information, especially when many other books dealing with philosophy practices might have you scratching your head, and giving up before even trying.

With the audiobook and PDF you can learn anywhere!

What does Adam B. Crafter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Adam's very disciplined voice matches perfectly for such a very disciplined subject.

Any additional comments?

This is a great package, because along with the audiobook, you also are provided a PDF that contains the text of the book, as well as the figures, charts, tables, etc. This means you can feed your desire to learn Taekwondo anywhere. Listen in the car or at the gym, then continue with the PDF at home (as well as view all of the pictorial images), and then pick it up again in the car, thus allowing you as much continuous immersion as you want. The audiobook also goes beyond just telling the moves; it includes the history, philosophy, discipline, bio-physiology, how to compete (tips to win, rules, etc.), AND it even has a section for advice for parents. It really is extensive in the depth in which it covers Taekwondo.

As the Audiobook Producer and Narrator

Would you consider the audio edition of Taekwondo to be better than the print version?

I don't think I should review my own work, but I did want to remind buyers that when you buy this audiobook, there is also a link to an included PDF on the Audible page with charts, figures, and illustrations to help you along.

PDF? Rating a n review is not valid until I can find it.

Where can I find the PDF? I downloaded the book, but can’t find the pdf.

Not a great audio book

I needed the print version of this to follow along. There were literally parts where the narrator was reading charts. Not great for listening.

Did not like

This book is to technical and makes reference to other books that you don't have access to. I would not buy it again.
